First impressions count. When brand new employees can't quickly find relevant workplace benefits, they disengage - leading to lower enrolment rates and wasted budget. Understanding what new employees care about when the first log into your employee benefits platform is key to ensuring they get a benefits package that’s as unique as they are.
Our latest update to the employee experience in the Ben platform allows employees to share what they’re interested in when they first onboard onto Ben. They’ll then get personalised benefit recommendations going forward, which makes navigating their benefits less overwhelming, more useful and more personalised from day one.
Understanding what new employees care about

First, they select which benefit areas are most important to them. They can select up to four options from:
- Financial security
- Health and wellness
- Work-life harmony
- Career growth
- Lifestyle and perks
On the next step they can then select from a wide range of specific benefits interests - from online GPs to cycling to income protection - and we’ll surface more of the kinds of benefits that we know they’re interested in.
Smart, simple personalisation for new starters
Having completed the ‘Your interests’ section of Ben’s platform onboarding flow, new employees will now see a section of their benefits dashboard titled ‘Discover benefits picked for you’. This is where benefits that are highly relevant to their personal interests will be displayed.

Please note that currently this feature in only available for new starters, and not for existing employees who have already been through Ben’s onboarding process.
